All about web based surveillance:
- We use primarily Panasonic network cameras, but we can work with whatever brand and type of network camera you have or need.
- The cameras are stand-alone units and do not need to be connected to a computer.
- The panasonic cameras are designed for indoor, heated use, operating at temperatures between 41 and 104 degrees farenheit.
- The lens is fixed focus, does not zoom, and has pan and tilt functions which can be controlled remotely over the internet.
- The cameras can be set up to transfer images at regular time intervals (or when a built-in motion detector is triggered) to a remote computer elsewhere on the internet, such as for recording or displaying the camera's image on a website.
- The cameras can be kept private and password protected, or it can be made publicly accessible.
- Up to 12 cameras can be monitored simeltaneously in real time from anywhere on the internet.
- The Panasonic cameras are video only and do not have audio capabilities.
- The Panasonic cameras can be accessed through a web-enabled cell phone.
- The Panasonic cameras can handle up to 20 users simultaneously.
- The cameras require a high speed internet connection such as DSL or Cable. No computer is required.
- The cameras can connect to the internet with a network cable, or they can connect to a wireless network. Either way, they need to be plugged into a standard wall outlet for power. A battery backup power supply unit can be attached to keep them running in the event of a power failure.
- Equipment plus installation costs approximately $500.00 per wired camera or $600.00 per wireless camera for indoor cameras and about $1000 (wired) to $1200 (wireless) per camera for outdoor, weatherproof cameras (which operate from -4°F to 122°F). Additional costs such as networking equipment and cables, network setup, internet access, non-standard mounting, and electrical wiring may apply depending on desired installation and status of existing infrastructure near installation location.
